A brand-new pantomime adventure is sailing into Wolverhampton this Christmas, and the Grand Theatre has now revealed more of the stars climbing aboard.

This year’s show will bring Treasure Island to the venue in a new panto production.

Comedian and actor Richard Blackwood will lead the cast as Long John Silver. He’s well known for playing Felix in Hollyoaks, while his West End credits include Shrek The Musical at Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

Wolverhampton-born Solomon Davy is also returning after appearing as Prince Stephen in last year’s Sleeping Beauty. He’ll play Jack Hawkins this time around, following West End appearances in Grease and a national tour of Hairspray. Solomon says there’s “something really magical about being home for Christmas.”

Leonie Wall returns to the Grand as Charlotte Trelawney, having previously appeared in Snow White. They join two very familiar Wolverhampton panto faces. Tam Ryan is back for his sixth consecutive season as Willy Hawkins, while Ian Adams celebrates his tenth year as the venue’s pantomime Dame, playing Mrs Betty Hawkins.

Richard says he was “in awe” of the Grand’s auditorium when he first stepped onto the stage. He described the theatre as the “perfect place for panto” and says he can’t wait to spend the festive season there.

Treasure Island will be a completely new panto adventure for the Grand, with plenty of festive family fun promised.
