A Coronation Street favourite is heading to Blackpool this Christmas, joining a familiar face from Britain’s Got Talent for a festive pantomime that’s returning to the Grand Theatre after more than 20 years.

Lisa George will star as the magical Spirit of the Beans in Jack and the Beanstalk, which runs from 4 December 2026 until 3 January 2027.

She’ll be joined by Blackpool panto favourite Steve Royle, who returns as Silly Simon following his success as a Britain’s Got Talent finalist.

The production will also welcome back Ben Harlow as Dame Trott, while Shaun Dalton returns to the Grand Theatre for the first time in 19 years to play the villainous Fleshcreep.

Ruth Betteridge will take on the role of Jill Pickle, with Louis Hearsey starring as Jack Trott.

And this year’s pantomime is planning something a little different. The theatre has confirmed that special 3D sequences will bring parts of Jack’s adventure into the auditorium, giving audiences the chance to feel even closer to the action as the story heads into the clouds.

It’s the first time Jack and the Beanstalk has been staged at the Grand Theatre in more than two decades, with Kylie Butler directing the new production.

Young performers from Blackpool’s Barbara Jackson Theatre Arts Centre will also return, continuing a partnership with the theatre that dates back to 1999.

With familiar faces returning and new effects planned, the show promises a traditional family pantomime with an extra touch of magic.
